Ahh, I love the use of questions as statements in disguise….

But seriously, according to Representative Tom Tancredo of Colorado, President Bush’s apparent unwillingness to place even stricter controls on immigration indicates some secret plan to merge the US with Canada and Mexico. “I know this is dramatic — or maybe somebody would say overly dramatic — but I’m telling you, that everything I see leads me to believe that this whole idea of the North American Union, it’s not something that just is written about by right-wing fringe kooks. It is something in the head of the president of the United States, the president of Mexico, I think the prime minister of Canada buys into it…” Tancredo said.

Thoughts anyone? What would change if we did merge with Canada and Mexico? More taquerias? Socialized health care for all? Or maybe nothing would change. I’ve wondered all along why we haven’t “taken over” our neighboring countries. Supposedly our era of Imperialism is over, but I think we’ve just been lying dormant, waiting for our new plan to take shape. We can’t do it the old way, with bullets, but we can do it with agreements, and mergers. Just like our companies do takeovers. With a smile the whole way, extending the olive branch with one hand and reaching for the piggy bank with the other. There’s no way we can stop growing.
